The 2017 Reebok CrossFit Open is right around the corner! Each year the Open provides a great opportunity to put your fitness to the test. For those not aware of what the Reebok CrossFit Open is, please check out http://games.crossfit.com/about-the-games/the-open for more information. CFHQ releases 1 workout per week for 5 straight weeks. The workout is released on Thursday at 7p CST and you have until the following Monday to complete and submit your workout result prior to 7p CST. The Open starts Thursday February 23rd and ends Monday, March 27th at 7p CST.


17.1: Feb. 23 - 27

17.2: March 2 - 6

17.3: March 9 - 13

17.4: March 16 - 20

17.5: March 23 - 27


Each week you will have the option to complete the workouts Rx or Scaled. You can complete the Rx workout one week and the scaled workout the following week. The choice is yours as to which version (Rx or Scaled) you would like to perform each week. Movement standards are released for both Rx and Scaled division. Each athlete will have an appointed judge for the workout, who will be in charge of upholding the movement standards and tracking reps. Upon completion of each workout, the athlete will be responsible for posting their score to the games site.


Registration opens on Thursday January 12th. Upon registering, make sure to select CrossFit Rise as your Affiliate and your Team. The cost is $20 per athlete and you can register all the way up to Monday, March 27th (prior to 7p).


How the Open works at CrossFit Rise


There will be a workout release viewing at CrossFit Rise every Thursday at 7p from February 23rd - March 27th. After the Announcement Show, we will be hosting head-to-head battles featuring our very own Rise athletes! More on this below. A schedule will be posted under the Announcement section in Wodify every Thursday before 10p to sign up for your time slot to complete the week’s workout. We will be offering times Friday night from 6:30p-7:30p, Saturday 10:15a-11:15a and Sunday from 9:30a-10:30a. Those needing special arrangements or looking to complete the workout twice, are welcome to find a judge and complete the workout during business hours. Email jessica@crossfitrise.com if you need help scheduling a time with a judge.


Thursday Night Throwdown


Each week after the Thursday 7p workout viewing we will be hosting a head-to-head battle with our very own CF Rise athletes. These battles are all in fun and costumes and shenanigans are welcome and encouraged! Please come out each Thursday to cheer on your fellow Rise athletes!!!

The Open is for EVERYONE!


Despite what you think your limitations are, the Reebok CrossFit Open is for everyone! Challenge yourself to become stronger than yesterday. What you learn in the Open can be applied to your training for the rest of the year. You’ll be amazed with your progress from year to year.
